Volunteer at the book fair
You can help at the book fair itself. One or a few hours. You want to help on the day itself with various tasks such as a bar shift, setting up or cleaning.
Volunteer leading up to the event
You can help with a singular task. A day or a half day, in the days or weeks leading up to the book fair. You want to help with logistical tasks such as: picking up supplies or make sure all the beamers work. You can also hand out flyers on demo’s or events or distribute posters & stickers in your area. This spreading of propaganda can of course be done at any moment of the yea

You can coordinate a vital part of the book fair. In the weeks before the book fair and at the book fair itself. You can coordinate workshops, stands and our different venues and take responsibility for this task. You can coordinate the volunteers on the book fair itself for your specific part (i.e. the bar), make sure there are enough people to help out and make sure everyone knows what to do. This means you are available in advance.

You can organize autonomously in the months leading up to the book fair. Doing this means you can organise your own project at the book fair. An example of this could be a cooking collective that provides food for a specific meal or throughout the day. Organising autonomously also means your crew carries the responsibility of making sure it happens. Other examples are organizing a benefit for the book fair or organizing the afterparty on Saturday. It will be an integral part of the book fair, but you don’t have to be at every book fair meeting.
Join the ABFA collective
You will be part of the ABFA Collective. During the entire year you are working on the bookfair. This means being at meetings in Amsterdam (once a month, and more often in the weeks before the book fair), taking up and doing action points, and being there during the book fair itself. This is a lot of responsibility but also a very rewarding
